Our family is constantly looking for Hidden Mickeys.

If you’ve ever found yourself staring a little too long at a trio of circles in the pavement, wondering, “Wait… is that a Mickey?” - welcome to the club.

You’re officially part of one of Disney World’s most delightful scavenger hunts.

Hidden Mickeys are exactly what they sound like - subtle, sometimes sneaky, outlines of Mickey Mouse tucked into rides, walkways, queues, hotel carpets, and even your towel hamper.

They started as an inside joke among Imagineers in the 70’s and have since become a full-blown obsession for Disney lovers everywhere. (Hi, it’s us. We’re the Disney lovers.)

Every time we go to the parks, we’re on the lookout.

It’s become a tradition and honestly the best way to pass the time in those long ride queues.

Sophia is always the first to spot them, Doug says he sees them even when they’re not real, and I? I take the photos and keep score.

So we figured it’s time to start documenting.

Let the hunt begin with Magic Kingdom.

001. Walkthrough of Cinderella's Castle

How To Find It:

Go to Cinderella’s Castle and walkthrough the Walkway from Main Street. Look on the left side at the the murals. Towards the bottom you‘ll see this green Hidden Mickey.

002. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

How To Find It:

Once you get to “The Magic Carpets of Aladdin” head between the ride and the Frontier Trading Post. Look for the white beaded necklace on the ground. Look around and you’ll find the smallest Hidden Mickey in Disney World.

003. Liberty Square Market

How To Find It:

Between Liberty Square Market and the Bell you’ll see this whole setup. If you look at it, on the left-hand side, you’ll see this lock in the shape of a Hidden Mickey.

004. Mickey’s PhilharMagic

How To Find It:

This one is inside the ride. Once you enter the theater, look at the stage. On the right-hand side, you’ll see the french-horn with a Hidden Mickey in it.

The best part about Hidden Mickeys?

Just when you think you’ve seen them all, another one pops up when you least expect it - in the corner of a mural or on the curve of a railing. We’re always on the lookout and will keep adding to this list as we spot more.
